Background of the Project Planning

Project Objective
  • The project aims to build a national infrastructure for human microbiome data in Korea by collecting and analyzing standardized, hospital-based samples and genomic data.
    This initiative is expected to invigorate the domestic research ecosystem for human microbiome studies.
    • (Short-term goals) Establish a research foundation through standardization of sample collection and utilization, and development of a data platform
    • (Mid- to Long-term goals) Support technology development using the data platform to advance globally competitive therapeutic technologies
